One of the most important items of nuclear power production was left out as is usually done when trying to sell a product. What about the waste? What's it's half-life? How will the waste be stored?

The 50000 year half-life of the storage of nuclear waste is the most serious pollution problem on earth!

A critical but localized hazardous waste storage challenge doesn't seem to meet the "most serious problem on earth" standard when compared to excess carbon and other greenhouse gases affecting global temperature and climate which will impact all life on the planet.
