I applaud the ingenuity of these innovations and if we have to use the objective of reducing emissions of carbon dioxide as our motivator or even our enabler to gain funding, so be it.

But I would also be remiss in my responsibility as an engineer and scientist not to say, having studied Thermodynamics to 4th year university level, "There is no way that carbon dioxide, by absorbing the small amount of IR radiation that it does, could ever appreciably warm the atmosphere of the earth."

Indeed, it may actually, indirectly have the opposite effect and be responsible for making our environment more benign and full of life.

As a consequence of the increasing concentration of carbon dioxide in the earth's atmosphere, the planet is becoming greener.

Plants can grow in more arid environs when there is more carbon dioxide in the air. In enabling this, carbon dioxide facilitates the cooling of the earth's surface through evaporation of moisture in leaves and gives rise to local rainfall patterns that otherwise would not exist.

So please keep up the good work in improving AI systems. It is a very exciting field. Maybe one day we will be able to make a computer smart enough to inform us that AGW is one huge scam driven by a number of parties that see it as a means of achieving their agenda, some sinister like socialism, some laudable; like, for example, gaining acceptance and funding for an AI initiative.
