I just watched a course at work from fellow researchers that use this technique to characterize materials, flaws, stressed coatings ect. with materials.

I am hung up on the 85% success for this on these patients. so 15% get mis-diagnosed either for or against having this illness.

that doesn't sound like very good odds to me as a reliable test.

True, 85% sounds less than ideal for such serious diagnoses. I believe the result of different psychiatrists working with the same patient group would have more divergence. For most neuro-involved conditions there are no clear diagnostic tests. Diagnosis is done via clinical, observed markers and is open to interpretation on many levels. In a sense, reducing the importance of a single professional’s perspective is likely to be a benefit.

I am struck by the fact that different MRI machines could give different enough images that analysis is not straightforward.
