My suggestion: Give that money back to the taxpayer.

The taxpayer would act in their own interests with the money and the general good would be hobbled, so we would all be worse off.

So the government knows better how to spend our own money? And politicians don't play favorites when handing out someone else's money for their own personal benefit? How did that Solyndra thing work out?
