We need less nuclear power rather than more.

We have enough issues with North Korea as it is without expanding this industry.

No-one is going to hold other countries to ransom with a wind or solar byproduct.

You seem to be confusing nuclear weapons with nuclear power. None of us want nuclear weapons, but nuclear energy, that is, electricity, is becoming more important as time goes on.

That is not so.

Wind, solar, wave and geothermal make nuclear unnecessary.

From a previous estimation, I have read that using concentrating solar electric panels, the whole worlds electricity needs could be met by an array 100km square.

On a world scale, that is entirely achievable. The problem is distribution. In the past we have seen European countries buying their neighbour's nuclear power, now we have Germany building solar arrays in Africa and distributing it to Germany. That is the way forward. There are no nasty radioactive waste issues, no nuclear weapon issues, no meltdown issues. Often the countries with ample sun are poor, so it suits everyone.
