Pretty interesting stuff. It would stink to come home after a long day at work to find that your house melted though.

So, if I'm beyond our solar-system's snow/ice-line, this material might be a good alternative to (say) metal for structures whose main purpose is cosmic-ray shielding.

And, if a suitable insulating material were (say) sprayed/attached to its interior, you'd have a good quarantine, transition layer for other, more protected areas.
