Biography

I am keen Kiwi car enthusist interested in all things Automotive if its got wheels and an engine I am into it.

As hobby since I was 12 I have created the worlds largest accurate detailed car index this goes back to publications in some cases to 1947 - its being a massive job that i update everyday i done well over 20,000 magazines - this is no quick fix almost everything in a magazine has been documented these include tested; profiles, interviews, letters to editors; restorations DIY tips ; race reports ; discoveries , news and even anything unusual that comes up for sale like a 4 door version of Atlanta that turned up in Motor Magazine of GB in 1952 I only seen 2 door roadsters of 1936-1939

While in the last 12 years of 34 I have been doing this; I am now a youthful 46. I gone into more depth: see below

With regard to cars themselves featured if the information is contained within an article i noted ownership details past vs current, chassis numbers; engine numbers ; body numbers; who bodied it and who rebodied it - who restored it did it race etc - This going to be very useful for those in market to buy and sell classic cars and no one does this either...if so not same depth

My aim is that within next 5 years a person in for example Texas USA could ask me a question about a particular rare classic car and if they quoted chassis number and as much detail as possible i could give its complete print history - Am I mad totally!

Sadly because of the size this data base it is offline and you can contact me.

Currently on my website www.carmagreviews.co.nz I review current magazines of issues going back to 2006 - a very detailed summary of what is there no one one world wide does what i do - it could be that its very labour intensive plus I can look at my own database of the past to further give readers information

I cover magazines mainly from here in New Zealand and Australia I do USA and United Kingdom but there are problems in getting a regular supply!

Kiwi publishers give me there latest mags free -while others I have to rely on Libraries (not always efficent) and with the few pennies I make and what I can Buy. so if you are a publisher and you want your magazine contents reviewed and magazine promoted to more readers drop me a line and I will give you my postal address here in New Zealand.

Currently my site is increasing at 1000 additional unique accesses every month I field enquires from not only Kiwis and Aussies but also here in the US , Europe (particularly Spain & Portugal?) and last week even Russia? so its getting out there.

I started a Blogg last year on Blogger (I thinking I will also start one with CR4 here? but the off line and current database keep me busy) I have not done much until yesteday June 8th 2008 on the subject giving references on Unusual Obscure Italian Cars Starting from Abarth -Any suggestions of how I could increase the readship of my blogg or make some money out of it Please tell me? Bloggs not working for me apart from link into my site and thanks to CR4 I starting quite a few of you too!

Cheers Julian Walls
