Biography

I specialize in genetic ecotoxicology which involves assessing the genetic impacts of contaminants and pollutants in our environment. This is usually done through measuring DNA damage in blood cell samples taken from field populations of exposed and non-exposed animal groups. I also assess new engineering technologies from the perspective of contamination potential at the genetic level (where all the action is, but little or no regulation). More recently I have been helping source sustainable systems for urban infrastructure that utilize waste as a feedstock for useful products and avoid completely the concept of disposal to either the air, water or the landfill. The mantra is complete elimination of contamination.
