My Name is Victor Garcia

I joined the Electrical & Instrumentation Field in 1984 working in refineries for the first 12 years of my career, I then opted to move my career in to the of Drilling and Production equipment as well as the service of such equipment, since 1996 I have overseen Service and Manufacturing, of a variety of Drilling, and Production equipment, compressors etc. I have for the last 3 Years been heavily involved in the initial desing of new consepts and oversee the Manufacturing of the products from inception to actual deployment. my specialty is Electrical, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic Controls, and some good skills on the structural, vessel, and Pressure Piping and welding of most of the control systems turnkey used in the Oil Industry. I do not claim to know it all, but feel very lucky to have had some of the best teachers, there ever were, the original men that actually had to use common sence to get the job done,

Sadly the Electronics, and tubing fields are lacking true skilled men these days because of the slow times in the 80's and 90's, the resent surge in demand for this crafts in the last 3 years drove wages for these crafts to limits I never thought possible, and still we do not have the true skilled men required, many claim to be able to do the job but lack creativity and product knowledge, I encourage any one that is young and has dose not have a carreer through collage, to look in to joining this dying craft as the older generation is dying and not being replaced at all, these skill require talent and the love of the skill, tubing installation is an art that requires artistic talents, with some math, and the ability to learn flow diagrams, the end result is doing a job that when you are done, you feel proud of your acomplishment,

sorry this sounded like a sales pitch, but to this day I still very much love the craft I originally started out with, and find myself going down to the manufacturing floor and just jumping in and start trying to show off, although some of the employees at our facility are extremely good, and I have a hard time even geting close to their talent.
