Responsible for the
supervision of instrument foremen/technicians and the activities related to the
commissioning / calibration and function testing of all field instrumentation
and control systems. 34 years experience
in instrumentation related to the installation and commissioning of
instrumentation for process plants. 22 years supervisory experience. Experience
in the commissioning of Pneumatic, Electronic, and Analyzer Instruments and
possess an understanding and the application of Field bus and HART
communication protocols.
Familiar with project documentation such as
engineering drawings, manuals and procedures and computer literate preferably
using Microsoft office applications.
Previous project experience
of Foundation Field bus installation and commissioning. Able to direct technicians in the correct
installation and commissioning procedures, preferably with Emerson Delta V and
Emerson SIS
Duties
- Follows Safe Work Practice Procedures for all
instrument commissioning and maintenance activities.
- Supervise or perform the loop checking and Cause
& Effect testing of field instrumentation and control systems.
- Responsible for upkeep of parts and tools
required for calibration and commissioning of field instruments and
control systems.
- Responsible for coordinating activities with
Warehouse personnel, for requisition of spares parts etc.
- Recommends estimates of time, manpower, and
other resource requirements relative to field instrumentation to
superintendent.
- Provide input into daily work schedule regarding
the priority, manpower, and availability of material for commissioning
activities.
- Coordinates with the Instrumentation Superintendent
in developing and implementing a commissioning plan for the
Instrumentation discipline.
- Conducts' Tool Box meeting with personnel
assigned to him and ensures observance of all applicable safety
regulations and procedures with regards to labour discipline and
industrial relations
- Responsible for quality and adherence to
standards of work performed by personnel supervises.
- Documents, maintains records, and makes reports
on repair, commissioning activities of equipment and systems under
responsibility.
- Organizes the red lining of drawing in
preparation for As Builts
- Supervises the testing of Foundation Field bus
networks utilizing specialized test equipment
