Biography |
Retired Navy. Navy electronics tech and Instructor. Served aboard USS Saratoga as work center supervisor with VA-83 stationed at Cecil Field, Fl. Last tour of duty to teach avionic maintenance on the F/A18 aircraft at Naval Air Maintenance Training Group Atlantic. Retired Aug 1990. After retirement I taught Basic Electricity and Electronics as a civilian instructor at Naval Training Center, Orlando, Fl. After 3 months at this I was hired by Lockheed Space Operations, Kennedy Space Center in the Ground Support shuttle operations. I was a communications tech to support shuttle turnaround processing for launch and troubleshooting with the engineering department. After 3 years, NASA started downsizing and due to union rules, they went by seniority. Found out later, I was exempted from layoff.
My wife and I moved home, to Warner Robins, Ga., where I worked in industrial maintenance for Graphic Packaging, a printing company for all the major soft drink companies. I was Printing Maintenance Supervisor. After almost 13 years, I had to go out on disability due to a service connected back failure and have been home for the past 6.5 years. I spend my time repairing anything I can get my hands on to try and stay busy. I do a littlte stop and lie down then go right back again. I'll be doing this till I can't anymore and let my wife care for me. (I hope!)
I am only 62 years old and have spent many years learning and working hard to support my wife and 6 girls. I am always open to give free advice and if you need a prayer, I can do that too.
