For 30 years I work along side my late father Bob Lensing, manufacturing tools for the Hardware and Automotive Markets under the brands Stapleton (ladder) and Mechanics (creeper). I Never strayed to far from product design and production process. At the age of 21 I designed and built a hopper fed step ladder Side Rail Machine. It trimmed, dado and drilled a pair of wood ladder rails every 5 seconds. In 1985 I moved the Automotive division to form REL Products Inc., where we developed the Mechanics Creepers line. We were first to sell a steel drop frame creeper to the retail giants and most noted for developing a kingpin that eliminated the caster from failure due to loosening. That kingpin is still used industry wide today. The last product line we produced was Loading Ramps that included a patented three section folding Ramp. To handle the volume needed, I built dedicated automatic welding machines.
2006 production stopped. We could no longer compete price wise . I miss all facets of production.
My Brother and I now concentrate on product design in hopes of growing our presence in retailers nation wide.
