Non-science 'admin-ny' person who found this site looking for spares' (parts) links on Globalspec for a scientific company (no, I don't get the link either; it just happened); got distracted by the endless theories raised by the CR4 challenge. Can't help myself now. Have to join up & say something - simply to add what I've observed. Enjoy the postings.
Otherwise, I engross myself in music, linguistics, genealogy, cognitive science, the so-called esoteric (events that science can't measure); intrigued by environmental, geographical & astronomical phenomena from a laybody's perspective: things that remain ambiguous to us hapless humans (such as Antarctica, extreme weather, oddities like 'lunettes', nacreaous clouds, fractals etc etc). Sadly, for myself, I don't have the maths/physics brain training to 'work out' some of these exciting concepts but am glad that my 'visual' receptors have introduced me to the mere fact that they exist!
p.s. - the photo is of 'Kow Swamp', middle Victoria in Australia. Dammed river systems up north (government approved) from as high up as Qld (some 1000km away) have led to irregular waterflow throughout southern Australia and contributed to the 'death' of major river systems. Odd flooding occurs. Meanwhile, there's drought occurring in nearby regions (150km away) In this case, water overkill has destroyed the otherwise majestic "gums" (eucalyptus trees).
