j-500 spline

Hello all,

Can anyone provide me with general info on j-500 splines? i.e . - what they're used for etc.

is there a standard that is used for bathroom faucets/hardware?

any info will be helpful. Thanks in advance!

Also, I believe this form is more often referred to as a serration.
