Looking for a Particular Corner Key

04/06/2015 3:45 PM

Howdy folks. I'm looking for a unique corner key/corner bracket design that has locking cams built into the arms. You can turn a hex-screw and the cams will automatically draw the two mitered frame members together, making the joint as tight as possible. Does anyone know where I can get these little buggers, or who makes them?
Here's what they look like:

Is that a company logo in the bottom two pictures? If so, a close up of the logo might be useful.

Yeah I thought the same thing, but magnification just made it fuzzier, and I never could make out any letters (and I don't have the actual brackets in hand, just working off these photos).

Thanks for mentioning it though Bruce!

Are those "cammed" or a pressure screw?

If the OP cannot find the exact cam corner lock then maybe a few calls to a window or screen door repair shop or a picture framing service would help to locate the "cammed" corner locks?

I'll put a call in to Doorman. Hey, Doorman, over here! Know where this guy can get some of these?

The piece is, in general, called the corner key.
[edit] Doh! That's in the thread title.

Is this a picture frame? Aluminum storm door? From your handle, I would guess your intending to use for pic frames, but what are the pieces you are looking for originally intended for?

I've never seen one like this... probably sort of expensive.

[I appreciate the vote of confidence, buddy!]

Thanks for the comments everybody! We will use these corner keys in a custom aluminum product (similar to a window-frame). And unfortunately I don't know what the corner keys were originally intended/designed for. I just know I would sure like to use some in our design.

I don't know about those ones but I use the one pictured below. It can handle frames up to 900mm x 900mm, does circles and ovals as well and doesn't need an outside frame as those ones of yours appear to do.

If you're interested, here is a link to one supplier, you can also Google "tv148 multi angle corner clamp" for more.
