Cherry Trees

04/17/2015 8:40 AM

As some of you may recall last year I posted a question about My two cherry trees

not having blossoms and therefore no cherries. I received many comments on why they did not blossom and how to cure the problem. I am happy to report that the trees are now in bloom and have blossoms although at this time the trees are not completely filled with blossoms they do have quite a few. As for what I did was absolutely nothing. I did not fertilize or prune or anything else that was suggested. I let Mother nature do her thing. My conclusion why they did not blossom last year was because of the harsh winter that We had here in northern Illinois. This past winter was kind of rough but it was not as bad as the previous winter.

Thank You all for all the suggestions

Share the cherries pal, don't need to send a ton, just send me a jar and I'll take care of the distribution.

No; We had a bountiful supply of cherries the year before.

Now a new problem occurred, The last two days (nights) were cold with frost.

Have to wait and see if this killed off the blossoms. Hopefully some survived. Will keep everyone interested as to the outcome.
