For the material such as SA 516, some times its normalized they add letter N, so do I have to do PWHT regardless the thickness?
Do you are going to weld this material?
The thickness is over 3/4 inch?
Do you are using a international code like API, ASME........?
Then, YES you have to apply PWHT . Using Temperatures and times according with your code.

Yes I am going to weld pressure vessel, and as I know over 38mm thickness I have to do PWHT, my question if the material thickness less than 38mm or 3/4 inch if its piping, still I need to do PWHT.
