Based on the information you are asking for, you should not be specifying nor purchasing a transformer. Get someone who has experience with purchasing this type of equipment to assist you.

Buying and Installing of Transformer and switchgear is highly technical job.You have to make the specification depending up on the actual requirement. Better get a good Electrical Consultant or hire an experienced Electrical Engineer from your area for this purpose.

You really should consult a design professional - with that, here are a few Mfgs websites that can help

www.sandc.com search data bulletin 240-110

This will help you size the fuses in your primary switch. There are a lot of things to consider like coordinating with whoever is providing you with the 12470

Transformers -look at Cooper Power and ABB They both have a vegetable based fluid that is low fire-point, and environmentally friendly. It is really the only was to go.

You may want to consider a Padmount transformer & Cable to the LV. I say this because lead time on Oil filled substation transformers is in the 30-40 week range or longer.

I am not a fan of Dry type MV transformers, but they are more readily available.

Low voltage swbd by any of the majors Square D, Eaton GE Siemens. Its all basically a mater of personal preference.

I don't know how you decided on 1500 kVA. 1500kVA will give you 1800 Amps @480. These oil filled transfomers can easily give you 25% overload.

Base on Transformer rated current X 1.25 You can probably size your low voltage equipment at 2500A or 3000A.

I suggest you discuss or consult with the power company where you would want to connect this kind of transformer. In some cases, the Utility Company may have available transformers that they can provide you or they have suppliers that have been working with them in many other installations.

There are many factors to consider in buying and installing a power transformer. Do you want an outdoor type? Pole mounted? dry type, oil filled and etc. The capacity or size need to be carefully determined, What is your loading, power factors, and even consider future expansion.

Do you have a rep. from Siemens, GE, Square D, Eaton, or ABB who calls on you? They should be able to point you in the right direction. Depending on how quickly you need it, lead time for a dry type transformer is about half of that of a liquid filled. I noticed someone else posted that they didn't care for a dry type transformer, but they are used every day for both indoor and outdoor application. If you would like more information on ABB transformers, email me at carla.pauley@us.abb.com and I can email information to you.

Shopping for transformers is not like shopping for cars... it is much more complicated and requires proffissional work. There is Cast Resin transformers as (Dry type) and There are several kinds of Oil transformers. The buyer always must consider the specification of the utility company if this transformer is going to be connected in their network. Also, he must ask the people who are going to energize the transformer what is thier specs and asks the people who are going to transport it what are thier spec as well. This is without going to the internal specifications of the transformers which there are hunreds of them. I will mention some of them

1: Trans type

2: Rating (given)

3: What should the core be made of (LV & HV) copper or aluminium.

4: The ambient temperature of the country.

5: The assimbly of the bushing, tab changer (several types), breather (oil trans), cable end boxes, end boxes bottom plates, thermometer, Pressure, protection devices, valves (oil), diagram plate, Caution plates, temperature relay, Trans baese (foundation) sizes, cable cleat, lifting eye ...etc.

6: maximum sizes of trans (H*W*L)

7: earthing connection (grounding)

8: Cable entry (top or bottom)

Is the transformer going to be put in a transformer room (should consider the size of the room and the door where the trans is going to be entered from) or just an outdoor transformer.
