No YouTube Sound in Firefox

Hi all

I have no sound in FLV movies in Firefox, works OK in Chrome? I've followed their solutions all to no avail.

I'd say you're lucky. Now, if you could just make Chrome work like Firefox, you'd have a perfect world. You could watch movies while listening to something worthwhile, like the BBC, on the radio.

Thank you all, especially SolarEagle, may your panels never need cleaning. I painstakingly worked my way through the list, again to no avail. I then decided to restore to an earlier date and found the file corrupted. I used the Upgrade option to reinstall Win 7 and I now have sound in Firefox. Phew!

Sound can be muted at the operating system level, browser level, program level, after loading Ubuntu and using Firefox and having no sound, I found it muted on the youtube control bar.
