Proof on Transformer S.C. Test

06/12/2015 3:59 AM

To find the constants of a transformer (equivalent resistance and reactance) using the short circuit test, we can find the equivalent empedance by dividing the measured voltage b the rated current, then the equivalent resistance by dividing the measured power by the square of the rated current, then using pythagora's theorem we can find the equivalent reactance. These values are either referred to the primary or secondary, where ever the voltage is applied.

To find the resistances of the primary and secondary, we assume that R1=R2' (taking that the equivalent resistance is referred to the primary) then divide the equivalent resistance by 2, we were asked to prove that R1=R2'. Could anyone help me prove it?
