manufacturer of building products. Renowned in the industry for their high
level of quality. They are seeing increasing demand in orders and require high
calibre individuals to help progress the business forwards and provide
efficiencies to deal with increases in volume.
Reporting to the Process Engineering
Manager, the role will cover 10 sites based predominantly in the midlands with
some as far North as Lancaster and as far south as Newbury, all producing parts
for the building products sector, in total employing 900 people.
You will lead and facilitate
Continuous Improvement and Process Engineering activities to support the plant
teams in improving safety, delivery, cost, lead time, inventory and reduce
product / process variation.

Job
Description
As Process Engineer you will be
responsible for:
- Driving, initiating and facilitating change programmes
and continuous improvements in the organisation impacting the bottom line.
- Implementation of a WCM Culture and Mind Set within the
plants supported by the relevant Tools and Processes.
- Implementing methods and practices to drive variability
reduction.
- Utilise lean and six sigma tools to eliminate waste,
driving cost reductions and improved working capital performance.
- Assist in training and mentoring employees within
different areas
- Roll out and drive Transparent KPI's and Targets with
in the business.
- Creating standard working practises across all sites
and develop parity across all like for like processes
- Maintaining an active list of process change ideas,
determining priorities based on cost and added value, and establishing an
implementation schedule based on practicality
- Identifying and Driving best practices
- Value stream mapping key business systems and processes
to identify waste
- Develop, lead and drive small to medium scale CAPEX
projects
The
Successful Applicant
Required skills and experience:
- Engineering or relevant degree (Process / Chemical
desirable)
- 6 sigma Trained to Green belt or Black belt Level
- Lean Practitioner
- Knowledge of manufacturing industries
- Project Management
- Lean Tools and Techniques (e.g. 5Y, Pareto Analysis)
- Demonstrate implementation of route cause analysis and
solutions
- Proven track record as a leader of change within a
results based portfolio
- Excellent Communication skills with ability to
influence mind-sets
- Motivating and Coaching skills
- Good analytical skills
- Proven problem solver
- Calm under pressure, patient but tenacious in your
leadership style
- Flexible, organised and able to prioritise own workload
- Be a leader within the business to improve and learn
- Work well within a team
- Experience of working with multiple suppliers/contractors,
in order to develop detailed project specifications to meet process design
deliverables
- Demonstration of Engineering led change
