Small Hydro Investors

07/06/2015 8:38 AM

Is there a database of Small Hydropower Investors? I have done intensive work on identifying site with potential, the problem how do I get connected to serious investors?

Every now and then Bill Fay of http://www.frenchriverland.com/ makes postings here. His is very involved in small hydro sites. Since he gets paid to rebuild them it makes sense that he knows about investors.

Bill posts huge collections of photographs of his company rebuilding hydro sites. The photo collections are very interesting for engineers to browse through. Prepare to spend some time on his site since you always want to click for "just one more" picture.

Thanks for the link. As you mentioned, "just one more", is an understatement.

If you search for "floating energy barges" using the search box on the right, you may well find some.

Where are you or this potential site located? Do you own it?

How far are you from potential paying consumers?

How much of your own money will you be willing to risk on this?

To get connected with serious investors you have to be one too.

Does your site have the potential for pumped hydro storage?

In the USA (provided your located here also) many Electric Utilities are interested in such projects as they are a means of gaining additional green energy points. Recent legislation has made it advisable and possibly manditory for utility companies to increase their "green" energy source holdings. They are interested in Solar, Wind and Hydro as these are renewable energy sources and recent legislation rewards utilities with these options.
