What does the check mark under "manufacturing" really mean?

07/24/2007 11:43 PM

I want to understand what the check mark under "manufacturing" means. I am looking at semiconductor companies, and I am not sure if that means they have their own fab, and if so, is it the front end or back end? Does it include using subcontractors?

Thanks

I wanted to add that I am referring to GLOBALSPEC website's search results, for example under semiconductor, I may look at power devices and then click on to see the list of companies relating to topic.

My understanding is that the check mark indicates that the supplier manufacturers their own products, as opposed to distributing them, although I think it might also include private labelers.
