Collection of Technical Drawings

12/05/2015 10:05 AM

Hello,

i am wondering where i can get some random technical drawings of random engineering projects.

I am not an engineer myself but i am interested in many subjects regarding engineering.

Project topics can be civil engineering, manufacturing, mechanical, aerospace.

It would be good if those drawings would meet standards, and would also be word informative.

Perhaps there is even a book that from all word data also includes technical drawings ?

Thanks for help, i have been trying to find that kind of material for some time, now i am turning for your help.

Wish you a nice day,

Anze

Sounds strange to me.

What is the real reason for this odd request.

Maybe something here.

types of technical drawings

technical drawings for beginners

technical drawings art

technical drawings pdf

Many drawings are copyright protected to keep people from using them for personal gain. I'm naturally suspicious of odd requests such as this.

Thank you for your contribution !

Although i am searching for more detailed, or should i say organized plans of full projects, supported also by word. Something like full technical presentation of random project. It can also be an book if there is one.

Real reason for my request is nothing more than my fascination i get when reading/watching this kind of material, beats every novel book or movie in my opinion. But i understand your concerns and where finger was pointing to.

The local public library, municipal planning and zoning department, technical school or civil engineering firm may be your best bet.

As I said these plans would have been protected by copy rights.

I just found this big collection of engineering plans and maps of city Los Angeles, documents are going back as far as 1930.

Sharing if anyone is interested:

Manufacturing drawings and interesting related text can often be found in the User Manuals of electromechanical products. Especially useful are exploded views. Here's a good examples: go to Embedded Features at the foot of the linked page and download the entire manual. Exploded fun starts on page 86.

Such random exploded views with part numbers can also be used to confuse political enemies, wonderfully taught in the 1958 novel (and 1959 film) Our Man in Havana, which fooled British intelligence with nuclear reactor drawings that were actually vacuum cleaner parts.

In a 2000 Jakarta presentation of a proposed wastewater & sewerage system, my Japanese competitors avidly photographed my PowerPoint depiction of the "system layout", failing to comprehend that it was the exploded view of a (Japanese made) CNC engraving machine. That didn't stop them feeding the press with expert comment about specific inadequacies of our "system".

Drawing is the communication language foe engineers. It depends upon type of project ,technical speciation ,codes etc Very difficult to suggest random technical drawings for technical projects.

No one would like to share technical drawings as they are the corporate secretes.

Unintentional of course, but your "corporate secretes" invites humour.

In most cases you can't really call them "technical", but the vast majority of patents have illustrations and text describing what the apparatus is supposed to do. Suggest you see what is available thru the patent office, on line.
