Spring clip needed

02/11/2016 12:25 PM

I've been looking for a spring clip, like a terry clip but with 3 legs instead of 2 so that you can push a circular rod into it end on. I know I've seen these & I've been googling like mad but can't find them, any suggestions?

Something like this quick sketch.

Not grippy like that. I should have mentioned that I need to be able to remove the rod from the clip & replace it.

That has possibilities but I was thinking more of a metal clip that I can screw fix to a board.

If you need just a few for something specific consider 3D printing a working design.

Unfortunately not. I need to be able to support an array of small, rigid cardboard tubes, roughly index finger sized. They need to be held firmly but easily removed later. I know that I've seen the exact clip that I want but can't remember where or the correct name.

What about curtain rod ends, or towel rail ends?

Friction fit, removable, cheap and readily available.

I looked at the metal clips that support the ends of wardrobe hanging rails but they were all a bit big. I suspect that curtain or towel clips would be the same.

A coil spring wound with it's i.d. just under the diameter of the tube will loose grip if the tube is turned to unwind the coil.

Why not a 'male' version inside the tube?

The middle of the tube is filled & the diameters will vary a fair bit, they are not accurately made.

Would you settle for two Terry Clips.

Good thinking, that could work if I can't find the 3 legged item.

Try "tube closures"
