Need Guidance for a Project

Hey, Engineers out there. My name is Karthick, I'm currently a 3rd Year Mechanical engineering student at Manipal University Dubai, and since my Graduation is nearing , I really want to contribute to the University/Community by developing/Inventing something as a part of my Final year project. Id like getting into Energy conservation and generation but am open to any ideas you would have to put forward. Just need your inputs for some exposure and opinions from Engineers out there.

So , if any of you would like to suggest an Idea , please do so.It would be really helpful.

Well I'm guessing you have a lot of sand there....so how about something related to glass production....?

I know the idea is an old one and there have been good reasons why it couldn't be done, but how about another look at a transmission, more or less continuously variable, from, let's say, 1:5 to 5:1 ?

There's nothing like a fresh mind.

For what it's worth, perhaps take a look at some of the newer "buzz-materials", and try to think outside-the-box as to how they might be utilized effectively...
I, for one, am excited about the possibilities for flexible ceramics, as seen many places, such as the All_About_Circuits article, and the Caltech.edu article here.
CR4 member Bayes posted a mention here, which (as of today, 2-29-2016) hasn't yet drawn much attention...
It can be just as productive (and satisfying) to find a new USE for something, as trying to invent something "altogether-new".

I feed birds now, instead of hunting them.

The dark patch to the right of the marker is a 3 acre pond with big bass, mostly and bream too.

The area where the marker is has been cleared, as is the large lighter green swath below it.

So, mostly sitting in the shade of a tree, fishing, enjoying the peace and quiet.

I have 40 acres there.

ahhh ... here's hoping you get to spend many-a-year there ("Wi-Fi-free")!

Currently, *I* feed birds too (image on the right, here, taken yesterday)... though I feed them for the EXPRESS purpose of entertaining my 2 katz...

{still "seeking-out" my own retirement-nest...}

Thanks a lot of your ideas guys. I'm still in a dilemma over what to really pick. Thinking on a Low Budget, Easily feasible perspective, which could possibly overcome some inefficient system.
