Some sort of modern, not-modern, art, not-art.

I would have thought it started as a VW engine of some kind but the more I look at it, the more I am beginning to wonder.

I recognized it immediately upon seeing it!! It's the main engine assembly that was used in the 1943 Huntley-Creech Land Yacht that was originally owned by the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers. I feel certain that several other CR4 members must remember those characters and their amazing vehicle that had more room inside than any other vehicle of the day....it even had a pool table in it, along with a full kitchen, bedrooms and a banquet hall....who could forget Freewheeling Franklin, Fat Freddy and Phineas....not to mention Fat Freddys cat!!

It's the prototype engine to meet 2018 EPA emissions standards. It doesn't run, that why it's so clean.

...A coffee grinder MK∏ designed and built from surplus parts supplied by CR4 engineers, that looks like a multi-voltage, multi-phase, multi-frequency generator.

....or Lyn's workshop with all bits carefully stacked up neatly - in case they are needed one day.

Hood did it for me.

V12 Laraki' is a replica of the Mercedes-Benz V12 engine used by Abdeslam Laraki in the 'Laraki Fulgara', Morocco's first ever high-performance, luxury sports car.

It is made of 465 parts and 660 bolts handcrafted in 53 traditional materials. 57 Moroccan artisans worked on his piece of art and created I believe a masterpiece, mix of excellent German and Moroccan craftsmanship.

It's a VW engine after the consortium of dune buggy builders got through with it. Did it run? Well---
