I bought a Coolpad Arise from Scratch Wireless because they offered free service by WiFi. A month later they changed their mind and said I would have to buy "passes" for voice or data. I've been fooling around to see what I can do without passes. I loaded Skype unto the phone and can use that at home to make voice calls. But it doesn't seem to work at other hot spots. Wonder why? I can usually get to the internet at home but out on the town the phone keeps dropping the WiFi I select or changing to another hot spot on it's own. Is that normal or is Scratch messing with me?
Scratch is no help at all. They can't or won't reveal any info on what they may have done to the phone to restrict my activities.
I'm a novice. This is my first smartphone and I'm just poking in the dark. Would appreciate any hacking help.
