I'm trying to remove password of Seagate 500 GB Mini hard disk.

Please tell me what is the best way to remove Hard disk password.

Are you trying to save/access the files?...or just reusing an old drive...is this new?

Return the drive to the owner. If they want you to have this drive, they should also have the password.

What software was used to password lock the content? Something that came with the drive or some other program. Without this data your options are limited because all we can do is guess.

I am guessing formatting the drive and losing the data is not an option?

if you have https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trusted_Platform_Module#Disk_encryption then . . . buy a new drive - i guess it's less costly . . . accept "a std. data/hw loss" - bitter but what you have - PS! keep the old drive incase you'll remember the password ???

The "password" was likely used to encrypt the drive as well...

...good luck with that.

If you can figure it out within a decent timeframe, the NSA probably has a job for you.
