You can go to the PTC website (www.ptc.com), find your local contact, and ask them about licensing. If you purchased the software, they will be able to help you.

If you just got the cd from someone, you'll have to purchase a license and probably upgrade to the new version (wildfire 3). Pro/E is pretty expensive. If cost is a problem, you could check into SolidWorks (cheaper, but not cheap) or Alibra (about the cheapest decent modeling program).

It's Alibre, and you can get a free version at www.alibre.com It's called Alibre Express. For a couple hundred dollars more you can buy an enhanced version. For the price it puts every other MCAD application on the market to shame. You can visit my website www.carrdesignservices.com to see a little of what it's capable of, and the Alibre site has a gallery of parts designed with their application. It's also easy to learn how to use the tool, and if you follow any of the tutorials on their site or mine you'll be making parts and drawings in a matter of hours, not days or weeks (Pro-Eek) or Auto Desk. Try it you'll like it. I guarantee it.

Actually Pro is about the same price as Solid Works and Cheaper than Inventor. Alibre Basic is very cheap but limited. Alibre Professional approaches the price of SW.
