Yes, of course you can. That's a large area. Are you thinking of using a single fixture or several fixtures mounted around the edges of the yard (on poles preferably)? If at one location, unless you mount it high up (think stadium lights) the glare will be quite onerous.

Actually I am concerning with the water-resistance and durability of the light.

There are outdoor LED lights in all kinds of styles and all made for outdoor use. They all claim to be water-resistant and durable too, which is generally the case as they have to pass certain standards. What is it you actually want to know? Which brand to buy?

Do what Solar Eagle suggested: ask an outdoor-lighting professional. They'd know exactly what to recommend and quite possibly any restrictions that may apply in your area.
