Centrifugal Pump Modeling

08/13/2007 12:05 PM

Hello Folks,

I am trying to identify the optimum CAD platform to Model (3-D) the complex geometry of centrifugal pump volutes...Specifically horizontal split case pumps and impellers.

Have any of you folks successfully Modeled these, and if so, which 3-D modeling package was most successful? Inventor, Pro, Solid Works, etc.

Thanks for your input.

Cheers,

Dave

to model it, i used autodesk mechanical desktop. even i did it in inventor. that was a long ago and recently i found using solidworks is much easier for equation based input. some of my friends say UNIGRAPHICS is much more simpler, but i have not tried it. try with any of them.

Try Solidworks, it is an amazing software for 3D modeling and testing. CosmosWorks, Flowworks are all additional packages you can buy to run the pump through tests and studies.

You should definitely use Inventor.

REALLY!?!?!?!?!?!

Now I assume you have successfully modeled one of these in Inventor.

You, sir, are hired...

Not a joke at all.

our company will pay you your asking price to come teach us how to do so in INVENTOR!!!

I really not kidding.
