Substation Automation vs. Wellhead Automation

HI,

what is the difference in substation automation VS Wellhead automation , as mentioned in ABB RTU section ? please elaborate.

Hmmm...

One is for a substation, the other is for a well head perhaps?

The point being, if you are looking at a brochure on RTUs, you are likely seeing something stating that their RTUs can be used in substation automation as well as well head automation, meaning very diverse applications in totally different industries that use an RTU for very specific yet similar tasks.

lexx7887. You need to reread the document as they are discussing two different scenarios where a Remote Terminal Unit can be used for automatic control and/or scada systems.
