radio telescopes pick up a lot of noise, even our best minds are not exactly sure what it all is or might be. could some of of it be ground bassed energy pulses to push spacecraft?

Well It COULD. But it could also be a naturally occurring phenomenon (Similar to this ). I want to find out anyway, though.

Are they able to measure how far that signal is from us? How do they do that?

Jump in your car and trek to Greenbank, WV. Take the tour and they'll answer all your questions. It's quite "enlightening".

And while you're in the area visit Cass, WV and take a logging train ride!
