Shear Strength Nylon Screw

I am trying to find the size nylon screw with a shear strength of 200 pounds or the closest to but not over 200 lbf. I think it must be about a size 8-32, but I'm not sure. Also, I would like to know what the shear strength is for the correct size. Can someone out there help?

I have never had a 200 lb Screw if you get an address please POST it as soon as possible for us all.

hi Steve,

there are even Nylon screws to connect train rails. I don't have it in front of me, but companies as Continental in Monaco, or injection molders near Lion , in France, have a selection of such screws.

You would have to be very careful in specifying a nylon screw, the strength that you measure, as with any plastic, will be dependant on the rate of loading. The screws, even if strong enough, may be susceptible to creep.

Properties for Fasteners 200 Learn all about fastners including nylon screws.

Very educational. OTOH you may have to go to a trial and error approach to determine size for you application.
