Have you tried pumping a silver nitrate solution through copper tubing? You can vary the flow rate, concentration and tube length to tailor the particle size. Silver nano particle are behind much of the magic of photoactive glasses. But you'd need to work with molten silver nitrate. What particle size range interests you?

will the method you have said will work with the solution???
