Patterns for Iron and Steel Foundry

Are there any new methods that is applied in making patterns for iron and steel foundry??

New as in what? CNC are being used now, when I started in this business, (Manufacturing) it wasn't .....

The cost of a pattern should have gone down, but no.. if anything they have gone up.
