It probably ingested a piece of paper or other debris.

Did you inspect it for obstructions?

It is possible that something is now running in the background that is taxing your cpu. The fan has to rotate faster to keep in cool. Check your cpu usage in Task Manager to see if a program has high usage.

Maybe the fan and air vents need to be cleaned.

I think all these responses are pretty good. The point is, it sounds like your fan has to run faster to compensate for something. Maybe it's because the processor is hot, maybe because the airflow is disrupted. Aside from what others have mentioned, I would ask, where is your pc located? Is it near any source of heat that originally it wasn't? Ambient heat can cause a fan to work harder too. Good luck!

Could be the fan has dislodged and is now rubbing on another component when spinning or the fan has dislodged within the housing. You said you built your computer, did you mount the fan nice and tight?

One thing for sure, it is important to make sure your fan is clean and cooling properly. I had computers crash in summertime, two years in a row - for the reason, I didn't realize how much pollen dust was in the air and was building up in the fan. Had to stop growing peppers in the office, and keep the window shut during tree pollen season. Not likely in your case, if it is a short time since you installed the system. But if you are in a pollen-rich environment, you have to maintain the fan more often, or risk the computer.

It depends upon what you mean by "noisy". If the noise is random screeching, then you may have some rubbing between the blades and/or bearings with the housing. If it is smooth and simply the fan rotating faster, then you need to examine why there is more heat being generated inside the case.

Something that is often overlooked is how much excess heat can be generated by viruses and malware running in the background. Try restoring the machine to its original condition to see if the noise level goes back down, then reinstall your programs one at a time and note if the noise increases with each package, then start going to your favorite websites and see if it increases further.

Sometimes it's as simple as having a video streaming on a tab that's not on top but you haven't closed, or as nefarious as visiting a dangerous site and receiving a bunch of junk that gets installed on your machine.

Yes I have had this problem on a couple of computers, it is a straight forward one to fix fortunately.

The problem is the fan is accidently stuck at 100% full RPM speed constantly and when that happens the fan can sound very loud even though nothing is actually mechanically wrong!

You need to have a look into your fan control software which is either not installed or needs adjusting so that it properly alters the fan speed based on need rather than just having it set to 100% speed as default.

Other reasons for this could be the temperature sensor software monitoring the CPU is not installed or corrupted and hence the erroneous sensor data is telling the fan that the CPU is too hot and hence the fan tries to run at 100% to compensate. Again this should be controlled by the fan software.

If you don't have a disk with the fan control software on it try the motherboard website for a free copy.

You might also check -- and clean if necessary -- the fan on the CPU to clean the dust/lint most probably accumulated *in* the CPU heatsink fins.

You posted a link for Ruiapple. Why don't you contact them ? Or is that you work for Ruiapple and are having problems with your products and are searching for possible causes.

Is the computer located where it can't get cool air readily e.g. next to a piece of furniture, or between the wall and desk?

What is the ambient temperature where you are? next to my computer it is about 32C (90F)

There is a free hardware monitor program:

https://www.cpuid.com/downloads/hwmonitor/hwmonitor_1.34.zip

Which allows you to see the temperature in you cpu (and several places).

I just downloaded and ran it up myself:

This should at least give you a hint as to whether its a problem with the fan itself or the processor running hot.
