Engineer or CAD Operator Required

09/06/2007 1:30 AM

I require a metal box (10 - 30 yard capacity) to be designed by an engineer or CAD Technologist.

I have already done the preliminaries and built a model of the box out of paper, what I require is CAD drawings identifying completed box and prefabricated sections for fabrication.

If interested, I require contact information, fee structure, upon which I will supply a NDA for your review.

I can see why you need an a engineer to work out if it is structurally sound.... but can't anyone fabricate from drawings these days, or enter it onto their own system?

I reallise there is a lot of cross over between the two .. but 'CAD operator' ...

Yet again you took the words right out of my mouth. Come to think of it one of our felines will take food out of the dogs mouth. We'll all have to watch out.

Why don't you contact an engineering outsource company? They will at least back up what is furnished.

An independent may or may not.

Yes, but most have higher than average overheads and usually cost a fortune - I would prefer a small independent, maybe someone on the side and not too expensive - say around $50 +/- a few points.

I can create full CAD drawings (3D & 2D) as well as FEA, if required. Usually charge $65/hr for general CAD (no design) work - will charge you $45 as professional courtesy. PE Stamp costs $250. Can provide estimate or flat fee for job upon review of project particulars. Contact if interested. Eric Lindloff, US Consulting, 775-313-4354, usconsult@hotmail.com

Post Graduate in CAD/CAM = Design Engineer?

Is that all it takes to call yourself an Engineer these days?

I would not touch this with a 10' pole, even if I had a 10' pole....

Dear sir/madam,

This is not, post graduation in CAD/CAM = Engineer

This is, Diploma in Mechanical Engineering ( 3 years ) + Degree in Mechanical Engineering ( after Diploma 3 years ) + post graduation in CAD/CAM ( after degree 2 years ) + Experience ( 3 years ) = Engineer ( and here also only Engineer not Senior Engineer ) O.K.?

Hi I am interested in creating your fabrication drawing.

I am a Cad Technologist, with fabrication experience, in Canada.

The model will be generated in Unigraphics with 2-D drawings, including weld specification and fillet requirements.

We can work out a competitive rate ($50.00 per hour Canadian $)

Once concept design is displayed, a package price with statement of work can be generate.

I can also get a fabrication quote. (depends on shipping distance Canada has competitive fabrication rates)
