SEW encoder

Dear all

i have incremental encoder (sew eurodrive type ES1T) and driver is from allen bredley ultra 3000.driver showing error message E21which i see in manual that is encoder faulty.but im not shure that encoder is faulty.can any body help me how i identify that encoder is faulty.

Dear ,

If you have facility to remove the encoder from the motor then try to remove it along with it's end connector, and then check it on Oscilloscope, check for all the signals coming , first see on what voltage it is working, and then apply it on the appropriate pin number and find out what signals are coming on corrosponding pin number, by rotating the encoder manually. see whether all signals are coming properly or not and then also find out for the reference mark on oscilloscope. Also there is one more instrument from Heideinhain it will be more helpful to you to check about your encoder.
