Mathematical model of drive train

09/24/2007 9:10 AM

I am student of masters and in my project work i am having difficulty in developing Mathematical model for drive train for dynamic analysis of vehicle. in which the consideration is as follows:

1) Five inertia system of engine,clutch(non linear),transmission,differential,wheels.

2) i have to consider universal joint speed fluctuation.

3)Reflated inertia in each gear pair in gear box.

This sounds like a good mechatronics modeling problem

Do a search for mechatronics, mechanical systems modeling etc, and grab your dynamics text

You'll need to come up with transfer functions for your universal joint, and gear train

Actually at this level i am not thinking to that much automated level its for manual gear shifting prob.

Hmmm, I don't have a masters, but you want me to do your home work? Really?

Do not forget the limited stiffness of the gear teeth in contact. The flexion is important. The contact (Hertz) can be neglected.

A reflected inertia is computed according to the equivalence of kinetic energy and taking into consideration the efficiency of the chain betwwen the position of the inertia and the spot where it has to be reduced.

Try to get examples of such or equivalent simulations at the suppliers of programmes for system simulations. There are several available as far as I remeber.
