Micom P545

09/06/2018 1:56 PM

Hi

I am trying to connect to a micom P545 device via a switch over a 61850 protocol. When I ping the connection is okay but on attempting to connect I get an error " cannot open port"..

What could be wrong here?

Do you have the Logical node identified properly?

Do you have the correct baud rate? Some devices will show up but not properly communicate if the baud rate, data bits (7 or 8?), parity, flow control, and stop bits are not configured correctly>

In all other cases Where I have communicated to IED's under IEC 61850, after defining the IP addresses, communication is established. By the way, I can communicate via a serial port but have failed on Ethernet IEC 61850 via a switch.

The communication error to be precise is C32CS

Try closing the port, then reinitializing to the correct communications settings

Are you certain a switch is what you need here?

Not that I need a switch but it is convenient for me to use i as I do not have to physically shift from relay to relay to configure. Connecting directly to the IED through the front port has no problem
