Transfer Machines

10/02/2007 3:09 PM

I am looking for information regarding transfer machines. I've searched the internet and can only find specs, but not any information that explains what these machines are used for.

Can anyone give me an idea of what transfer machines are and what they're used for? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

"I was specifically looking for information about rotary, in-line, and trunnion transfer machines."

If you ask Google for "Trunion Transfer Machine(s)" or "Rotary In-line Transfer Machines" you just possibly might find an answer.

I tried that and only got specs, which would be great if I knew what these machines did.

The original transfer machines were street cars and busses.

Long ago in Chicago you could get a transfer coupon when you paid the seven cent fare and change street cars or busses all across and around the town.

I understand that a fare gets you anywhere that conveyance goes but no free transfers!
