In transformer during the measuring of no load loss watmtmeter gives the negative reading. what does it mean?

A wattmeter needs a voltage signal and a current signal.

For your problem, polarity of one of these signals is reversed, I guess.

Referring to residual magnetism transformer regenerate reverse power causing a negative power (regeneration power)and this power depending on the amount of residual magnetism
