Wow, this thread is the #2 result in that search. That being the case, the Google results may not be very helpful.

If you have more specs on the motor I can do some searching. Otherwise I would suggest you search the Air Motor section on Globalspec, you can put in the specs and find out who makes it.

Sprague was the OEM for Boston Mass Bay Transit Authority (MBTA) wipers. The Manufacturer is now called:

Commercial Vehicle Systems Vision and Safety Group

525 West US Highway 20

Michigan City, Indiana 46360

tel: 219-872-7292

The distributor that we use is:

Rome Truck Parts

241 Dempsey Road

Rome, GA 30161

tel: 706-295-4345

Hello guest,

I don't have the answer to your question, but was surprised to know that they use air motors for windshield wipers?

I remember these days when you took your foot off the accelerator pedal, the wipers would come to a complete stop when intake manifold pressure would rise to atmospheric pressure. Are these systems still in use today? why would someone use anything else other then an electric motor?

Please educate me.

Wangito.

One reason to use air operated devices rather than electrical would be in areas where explosive gas or combustible material is/can be present.

Here endeth the lesson.
