Detection of Bacteria by CD/DVD Scanning

12/29/2019 6:12 AM

I remember several years ago seeing a video wherein a bacteria was place on a blank CD(or DVD,I'm not sure which). The output from the cd/dvd was analyzed using a proprietary software program.

This was a very quick method of detecting bacteria, and could identify type of bacteria.

I have searched for it online and cannot find anything related to it.

Was it simply a device that did not pan out or is it currently being used ?

Seem to me it would be very useful in today's political climate.
