Lab Turns Trash into Valuable Graphene in a Flash

02/12/2020 9:32 PM

This looks great if it works like they say, a cheap way to turn trash into graphene which can be used to strengthen building materials.

"Scientists are using high-energy pulses of electricity to turn any source of carbon into turbostratic graphene in an instant. The process promises environmental benefits by turning waste into valuable graphene that can then strengthen concrete and other composite materials."

I would imagine the downside of PA technology is the electricity operating costs.

Making graphene was never a problem. Using a pencil on paper can produce graphene. Reliably producing graphene in a form for another process to use is the problem that Rice University has overcome. Bravo!
