Power Generation Lost

10/28/2007 5:15 PM

Hello

I have a Honda EM1000F "power" generator, 230V/850W, which have lost the output voltage. Everything seems OK following the producers shop manual, windings& condensator but the output voltage is not good; I have measured only 24 V instead of 230. It is possible that the generator was start with some consumer connected and have lost the remanent magnetization of rotor.

Somebody knows something about that?

Watch overload protector switch if available , it will be mentioned in operational manual if present , possably you have ovrloaded the generator above rated PF and it has tripped , 24V AC is not actual measurement when measured through digital multimeters , they may show capacitors charged used for surge and harmonics neutralization PF improvement circuit also sensors circuit. If you feel and see your generator rotating as usual ,also you can track for MCB , fuses present for protections

All components are OK, the problem is now solved - I have remagnetize the rotor and now I have again the power generation.

Thanks !

Dear friend,

There should be a small voltage regulator inside and it could have been damaged. the function is to convert the exciting ac into dc plus regulation to excite the main coil of the generator.
