DC generator

11/02/2007 10:11 PM

In what configuration (series, shut, cumulative or differentially compound)should I have a generator if there is significant resistance in the wiring of the load? I want to maintain the load voltage nearly constant

Here is not enough info given. E.g. how far (in ohms of feeder line) is your load? Wattage /power of the generator? etc. In general - the solution is the generator voltage controller.

cumulative compound dc generator is to be used; ignore transient effect if any.

create simple variable amp-turns effect across series winding for required voltage requlation.

Install a battery in parallel to the resistive load and parallel to the generator.

A battery maintains a constant voltage across the resistor.

The generator maintains a constant battery charge.

Yeah, that will work. Just make sure the battery capacity is large enough to absorb any surge current.

Is anybody consider THE POWER ( mW-W-kW-MW)?
