Inflable Structures

11/16/2007 5:05 AM

I need some information on inflatable structures--specifically a long inflatable structure that can withstand and resist forces from different directions. The structure should be as light and foldable as possible. Which material(s) may be used, and is it necessary to have an inner reinforcement component? Azi Nativ

What's it for ? A poly-tunnel to grow fruit, ventilation ducting, an airship, a boat, etc ? A bit more info might help Azi Nativ.

I saw that "balloon" covered w/concrete on TV. They were making a round/sphere house; pretty wild concept.

I saw it too ! BBC Television (UK) - "Dragons Den" programme. I referred to it on a post about building an igloo-type structure within CR4 recently, but couldn't find a link for it. Brilliant idea. Proposed as an emergency shelter construction method. You could air-drop an inflateable dome + cement etc.

You can have thick foam as designs you intend to have ,if you need portable foldable which can be filled with air and deflatted like ballons , look out for dual layered structure filled with anti leaking component fillings , try googling.
